Visual artist Jan Dietvorst tells about the experience of visiting nations in faraway countries and addresses the difference between the migrant and the tourist. Jan Dietvorst works with anthropological themes, focusing on objects, films and 2-dimensional work. He investigates, among other things, the stereotypical contradiction between ‘us and them’ and the way myths arise. Dietvorst works on regular base with Roy Villevoye. Together they travel and make films about, among other things, the culture of the Asmat Tribe in West-Papua.
