The works of Just Quist can be distinguished by their literal precision. For that very reason they are difficult to describe. To produce a work Quist processes texts and visual material. He chews on words, forms the language, develops images.  He examines materials, their  colours, the shapes. He thinks about mirroring, application, fusing, screening and outlining. His works are meant to function as things amongst other things. They are standing, hanging, lying in space and relate to the public. They live.

In the context of the West Wednesdays theme Elements, Quist will talk about his painting Limonade Modern from 2018. He will clarify what the elementary particles of the composition are and how they stick together
